So You're Getting Hitched?

Getting in Shape for Your Wedding

Losing weight is hard enough; keeping it off is harder! Often when we are trying to look our best for a big event such as a wedding we end up gaining it all back in the process. Here’s how to make sure the weight stays off.

  1. Give yourself plenty of time. Crash diets the month before will only cause you to gain the weight back the second you have dinner on your honeymoon.
  2. Don’t diet— change your eating habits. At least six months before, take a look at what you overeat and binge on and make some changes. Some easy things to eliminate are: soda, beer, fried foods and potatoes.
  3. Exercise at least 20 minutes a day. Don’t crash exercise an obscene amount right before the wedding. Instead, incorporate exercise into your daily rituals, toning and refining your body.
  4. The weight may come off slowly this way, but it will stay off. After your wedding you’ll also be able to maintain the change in your eating habits rather than keeping up with a serious diet.
